Site Rubix Review

Building a website for most people is similar to public speaking–one of their biggest fears! Just a mention of learning any type of code will make most people break into a cold sweat.

Luckily technology has come a long way and making your own professional looking website doesn’t have to be a hassle.

Site Rubix is as simple to use as a word processor. It’s super user friendly and one intuitive piece of software. If you can type, and know how to drag and drop you’re in business in minutes.

But just as any software it has its pros and cons.

Here are a few that I must note:

Pros:

  • You can expect to build clean-looking,  professional websites in minutes.

  • It comes with an array of pre-built themed templates.

  • Creating layouts is a breeze, since everything can be moved and arranged on the fly by dragging and dropping.

  • No HTML knowledge required whatsoever.

Cons:

  • The layouts even though are clean-looking and professional are solely limited to the existing templates.

  • You can’t customize your website like you can with Dreamweaver to the exact parameters. (i.e. have custom buttons with mouse-over effects, custom color schemes, cascading style sheets, java script panels and etc…)

  • You’re limited to only a handful of text fonts and sizes.

My Final Thoughts

In conclusion, if you’re a complete novice and just want to put a decent looking website fairly quick, SiteRubix is your best friend.

However if you’re looking for something to call your own and to be able to customize it, there is no better software than Adobe Dreamweaver.

In fact this very website has been built with Dreamweaver CS3. As much as I respect SiteRubix for what it is, I am still a big fan of flexibility and control. Dreamweaver gives you both for a decent price.
